Over the years I have used a number of Nikon cameras: - Nikkormat FTn - used this for a very short time.
- Nikon F Photomic FTn - this was my main camera for over 10 years until the meter broke and the mirror jammed, and repairing it wasn't cost effective.
- Nikon F50 - used this for about 6 months.
- Nikon F70 - replaced the F50 with an F70. I still have it. It takes great pictures, but the user interface is poor.
- Nikon F100 - bought this instead of a digital because it cost me much less than the 6MP digital SLRs available at the time. It is a beautiful camera, and you can straight away see that the D300 and the D700 inherit much from the F100.
- Nikon D80 - this was my first digital SLR.
- Nikon D300 - my current DSLR. Only the D700 or D3 exceeds this camera. It has a superb feel to it ... stuff that only Nikon seems to be capable of.
- Nikon F2A and F2AS - beautiful cameras.
- Nikon FM2N - a gem of a mechanical camera - they don't make it like this anymore.
- Nikon F3 - the workhorse camera of the '80s. Most samples appear to be in battered condition but still working!
- Nikon F6 - wow! the best 35mm camera for photography!
I have also used a number of Nikon lenses: - Nikkor 55mm F1.2 Non-AI - very sharp at apertures below F2.
- AF Nikkor 50mm F1.8
- Nikkor 50mm F1.4G AFS
- Zeiss ZF 50mm F1.4 - suffers from severe coma at wide apertures.
- Zeiss ZF 35mm F2
- Nikkor 105mm F2.5 AIS
- Micro Nikkor 105mm F4 AI
- AF-D Nikkor 24-120mm F3.5-5.6
- Zoom Nikkor 80-200mm F4.5 AI
